Mayan Fabric Hammocks

The fine cotton fabric used to manufacture our Mayan fabric hammocks originally comes from the highlands of Guatemala. In those lands surrounded by volcanos, the same movements and tools have been used for centuries. Our Mayan textiles are hand-woven on traditional wooden looms until today.  This Mayan craft work involves a lot of patience and five steps of manual processing. Some hours of weaving cotton, wool and sedalina are necessary to produce one single piece of hammock canvas. Pieces of fabric are then sewed together by Mayan women. This secular Mayan tradition is what makes the colors, the texture and the comfort of our fabric hammocks so unique.
