Mayan Fabric Hammocks

The fine cotton fabric used to make our Mayan hammocks originates from the highlands of Guatemala, where, for centuries, the same techniques and tools have been passed down through generations. Our Mayan textiles are handwoven on traditional wooden looms, preserving an ancient craft. This intricate process involves several manual steps, requiring great patience. Weaving cotton, wool, and sedalina can take hours to produce just one piece of hammock canvas. Once woven, the fabric is carefully sewn together by Mayan women. It is this rich, centuries-old tradition that gives our hammocks their unique colors, texture, and comfort.
